1.
I was going to suggest a Zoom B2.1u, excellent tuner (mine easily copes with a low :) and load of effects too.

    Pete.
the tuner is identical to the 506 II , the price isnt

  2. im now thinking of moddin my bass so that i can switch between passive and active elctronics, so i talked to mansons

    email i sent to mansons:

    "hello

would it be possible for you to mod my musicman sub bass guitar so that it
has a active/passive toggle switch, so i can switch between active and
passive electronics? would this require a new pick-up?

    thanks, kev"

    The reply:

    "Hi Kev,

We can certainly do it. Possibly the best way would be to keep your existing
pickup but add an EMG active circuit to it, which could be on a push-pull
pot. Parts & labour on something like this is usually around about £100.

If you'd like more information or to talk through alternative options,
please give us a call on (01392) 496379.

    Regards

    Jay"

is this worth getting done? idea is to solve the problem i have with my active bass and fuzzes. also are there any cheaper luthiers that would do this, prefferably local to bristol or liverpool/mancherster

also this doesnt make sense to me, as i dont understand how the mod they suggested would make my bass passive, iv emailed them again....

  3.
My intonation is spot on, I don't usually tune up that way - but I suppose I will if it'll save a few squid.

Is the Peterson strobostomp the one with a sort of blue LCD display panel?

seriosuly, get a zoom 506Ii multi effects pedal. it has one of the best chromatic tuners iv ever tried, and tracks down to b just fine, plus if your brave enough to actually put it into your chain, youl have plenty of effects too! i only ever use mine for the tuner these days, with its mute function and everythin it never lets me down

  4. obviously the whammys beat the boss's usually

seriously tho, i dont advise you get the whammy, from what i can see you wouldnt justify the space it takes up on a board, if your only gunna use it for octave up. try and get hold of a unibass, best octave up for bass there is

  5. right, i know iv talked bout this before but i cant find it so ye

when i play bass with my fuzz probe, because my bass is active, it doesnt sound to good at times, especially when playin fast or holding a note, and iv heard this is because i have an active bass. is there any device/pedal out there (cheap as possible) thatl change my signal so that this is at least reduced? im a n00b when it comes to this, is it something to do with the impedance of my signal? help me people, cheers

  6. ye mate id go for the ps-3

do NOT be tempted to pay stupid money for a bass whammy, they just aint worth it

far as bass fuzz goes, id go for the chunk systems brown dog, if i ever get rid of my fuzz probe, thats what id get

  7.
I've just ordered an Audere Jazz bass preamp (comes fitted to a new control plate) direct from Audere in the states for £88 inc shipping, due to the £ being really strong at the moment. Even if the VAT man collars me i still think thats really good value. Just thought I would share this with you all. Peace
customs will happily add about 20% of that again onto your total purchase price

  8. i have the zoom 506II, like the lowest cheapest pedal in that zoom range, and i use it for the excellent tuner and failry good mild overdrive. all the other effects are pretty unuseable tho, but im sure the b2.1 will be much better, as its 3 pedals above mine

  9.
I had a listen to your clips and just an FYI just from the sound is your bass active? as thats why you are getting all those gated sounds with the Fuzz probe, you should look into an impedance buffer as that will greatly increase the usability of that pedal for you.

Also to anyone else looking the arpegiator on that PS-3 is more like a real arpegiator than that of a Sample and Hold Filter so try not to compare them to much as they sound completely different. Personally I prefer the sounds of a Sample and Hold Filter.

    Hope this helps
yes its active. can you give me an example of a impedance buffer?

click on ps-3/deep impact hifi, thats jus a random recording i made of the Boss ps-3 arpegiator type sounds and my deep impact. im jus hitting random notes to give you an idea of what its like

  11.
Chris doesn't actually mention Hysteria in that interview though.
yes i know, but still the synth sound is pretty much the same for tiro and hysteria, only difference being that chris uses distortion as well for hysteria, and just clean on tiro

    anyways all imo

back to the point of the thread i think :) , can people keep posting there settings!!

What do you do about that live?
I play the line over the top of a synth backing track.
as i said, thats what he does, along with hysteria
