1. I love my FNA Jazzman love it, love it, love it and I'm going to be buried with it!!!
2. I've been playing happily with my mini qtron for years now!!
3. If you add a pre-amp into a chain won't do much to your volume, although there may be a perecived increase on decrease depending on what sound you go for. However, a pre-amp effectively gives you more options to shape your sound to achieve a toe you are looking for. If your head is in the one i'm thinking of it has a 4 band eq with some sort of tube tone as well. If you then get a pre-amp which only has a 3 band eq then you're not really adding many more options however if you buy something like this http://www.swrsound.com/products/search.ph...rtno=4405200000 You get an eq with more options, compressor, valve and various other bells and whistles that will help you shape your tone a lot more. If you're not after a lot more options then I wouldn't worry too much! If you want more volume then a pre-amp won't really help
4.
Hi barefoot bassplayer. Your the guy who sold me my modulus flea bass I believe? Greetings =D.
Hey how you getting on with her?? Any pictures??
5. I bought a FNA Jazzman after originally saving for a Stingray. Went to the shop, strapped the Stingray on and was heart broken as it felt like a lump of wood! (and I don't mean this as a criticism of the stingray, just how it felt in my hands). Anyway they had the FNA on the wall and it had the humbucker pickup (along with a jazz) and man as soon as I laid my hand on the neck I wanted it! Ovangkol neck, wenge fingerboard.....I can still feel the sap from the wood I swear I've had it, must be close to 10 years now, and I tell you I will be buried with this!! It is my go-to-bass for any session or dep work as I don't worry when I've got it strapped on. Never had an issue except one niggle, plastic battery compartment cover on the back with a quick release system!! Now attached via gaffa tape!!! Ha Ha
6. Cheers truckstop The Carvin is really nice! Very slim neck and rather light on the back as well! picked her up direct from the guys in San Diego when I happened to be out there a few years back. Got a realy nice variety of tones!
7. Hi there I have experience of teaching bass guitar to a variety of ages and varying levels for a number of years now. Been touring recently but finally able to get back into teaching! I am all set up ready to go so that I come to you and teach you in the relaxed atmosphere of your own home. I can bring a small amp, bass, sound system and everything i need to teach you what you want to know. I prefer to tailor a lesson to suit your needs, if you don't like theory we can concerntrate on other areas until you feel you are ready to take the plunge, good basic technique (left and right hand), playing in a variety of styles, teaching you how to play specific bass lines, playing with a drummer, slap, tap, chords, sight reading, showing you how to care and look after your intrument, setting up amps to suit your needs, essentially what will help you be the best bass player you can be! I'm easy to get on with, good sense of humour and genuinly love to see people improve at what they're doing. I charge £25 for an hour (no clock watching though, if we're near to getting something I'm not going to suddenly stop the clock on you!). This includes my travelling time and providing all study notes and anything else we get in to. I can also record you for later strutinising and feedback. Please feel to free to get in touch either at [email protected] or 07718904621.
