  1. Is this a Japanese made one - rather than the description thats appearing on some similar bases on Reverb / Bass Bros etc "ATELIER Z DESIGN is a new series from ATELIER Z, a long-established domestic brand that is supported by a wide range of genres, both professional and amateur. It achieves high cost performance through overseas production, and is a series with reliable quality while being affordable." So presuming its not the "design" version - cant quite make out the headstock finer details - I do like the look of this
  2. A chance to save lots on the RRP of this bass and that's if you can get one without a long wait! I have an extra pickguard for the bass so there are black and white original (Penguin!) look or an all white look which I prefer. the white pick guard was made for me by the fab "GIG Ink" and the black one is the original and is of course included! Such a quality instrument! Beautiful ebony fingerboard. I can barely find a mark on this instrument and haven't played it much as I favour my Lionel shortscale having wee mitts! Comes with excellent condition Sandberg gig bag and the certificate of authentication from Sandberg confirming the serial and the Plek set up of the bass Sounds storming with so may tones available and is a perfect weight at circa 8lb 5 oz on my kitchen scales I may consider a trade for another bass / guitar or some nice gear as I cant help myself lol but looking to release some cash from this one Collection much preferred but will post at buyers own risk - Also I may be able to drive a distance to complete a sale within reason of course as headed from North Lincolnshire to London next week and have some trips around the country over the coming weeks thanks for looking (PS label on strings to assure you this is my bass- what a good idea) )
  3. Hi Is this very heavy and is it Korean made? thanks Lesley - its full scale too yes?
  4. Hi there! - is this passive AND active or all active thanks !
  5. be great to get a precise weight as I am a bit of a weakling - thanks
  6. No but I know someone that does ….
  7. Can anyone help me diagnose why I get no tone control from the 3rd knob on my Atelier z - EMG pick ups work perfectly on the other two knobs ( vol for each pick up ) all joints are sound solder - I’m not very techie so it may be obvious to someone more knowledgeable - TIA!
  8. Hardly a mark and hardly used as I have a VS4 and Atelier - best colour imo! A lot of bass for the money
  9. Thank you - I’m a she though ( not that it makes any difference to anything !) hence short scale for my small mitts !
  10. @scrumpymikeThank you so much for a trouble and hassle free transaction when I bought your Atelier - arrived well-packed and as described - was off that very night to the studio where it laid down the thumpiest of thumping bass lines to Dua Lipa's Love Again - a cover of course ! lol thank you highly recommend
  11. Yes I am - they take some of that zing out of the fender tone which suits me and they have a nice smooth feel
  12. went for some D'Addario Chromes in the end as recommended by Strings Direct too Interestingly short scale would be too short so that saved a mistake need medium scale 34 inch length to go through the body ! Thanks all
  13. that's really useful to know thanks ! Just wading through the types and sizes as we speak!
  14. Hi all I have some labella flats on my Sandberg and I love the feel and sound of them Do they translate to short scale as I have bought a Mustang and usually clean them down and add new strings so might as well have a go Do they complement the short scale and what are the choices / watch outs / considerations ? thanks all ,much appreciated Lesley
  15. Thanks all for your replies and helpful advice - I am going Mac / Logic for now based on the general consensus and wider reading thanks again !
  16. thanks for this - a lot of sense in these - I am gravitating to toughing it out with the general Mac nav and going the Logic Pro X route as I am familiar with the general way of workflowing that - its not as expensive as I thought either ! thanks all !
  17. I only use a Mac for this purpose and find them less easy to generally navigate than a PC finding files and programmes etc
  18. Thanks for taking the time to reply folks - so .... to clarify.... I feel I need to learn a daw that’s more professionally recognised/ featured than GarageBand but don’t like using Macs - the logical transfer of my GarageBand knowledge would be Logic Pro x but that’s only Mac based - so in the ideal world looking for a Windows based daw with a huge array of amps and instruments and musician centric -hope that makes sense - thanks!
  19. hi - It doesn't have as many sounds / virtual amps etc but other than that its a fair point ! I just think I want to spend some time getting to know an industry standard DAW as when I collaborate GB is perceived as a bit of a toy?
  20. I did that too had a top notch partscaster made from mostly Fender USA parts (apart from the Gibson knobs) and top pick ups - NR has got to be one of the most prolific and talented musicians, writer, producer of the century! The Hitmaker has spawned $millions of music !!! you can see mine on the profile pic
  21. Hi - I have grown out of Garageband (although I think the quality is amazing - here is a track I have written and played on - not me singing though https://emastered.com/profile/CharlieBrowne/track/1618264584-h8GtIjW) and I am not sure where to go next in terms of a DAW - Logic pro is the obvious contender but doesn't allow me to say goodbye to the Mac which I cant get along with and I have soooo tried. I'm not a technical obsessive and wont be sitting there for months trying to master every feature but want a great quality sound and able to select lots of instruments and amps from the DAW. What say you all from your experience (Ableton, Pro tools etc) ? I am a musician more than a technician if that helps. Thank you for reading / replying
