  1. i used to have the full set up. the bass was superb quality and i managed to get one of the best actions i have had on a bass. it was so slick and fast feeling. can you believe i got it mid 90`s from a swap with a second hand alesis sr16 drum machine that was on sale in the shop where i worked for £70 and he was thrilled to bits! fantastic market leading midi guitar stuff and always ahead of the rest. latching was good on some and not on others but it did work pretty well i thought. wish i still had mine. very much missed.

  2. [attachment=90710:preview.jpg]brand new combo that i got that was brought as b stock as the screws that hold the head in place had come loose and the bolts that hold the transformer two had come away from the case. i fixed it all with some epoxy glue and its perfect now and is as it should be if brought new. its a do all amp with a built in tuner 3 memory positions and a superb compressor. its basically the same amp as in the RH450 but without the lights on the dials.

2x 10" drivers & 1" driver (Eminence TC Custom), 500W (1000W peak), thomann SpectraComp, TubeTone, Tweeter Tone, 3x channel memories, bass tuner, 4x tone controls, instant EQ, balanced DI output, headphone output.

its an absolutely cracking amp and got more power than i will ever need as i only play at home so up for trades for something smaller but pref` with a compressor on board.

its pictured above and not much point me putting up pics as its 100% brand new.

  3. trouble with bass gear postage is not as bad as you think and you will find the same issue on ebay. best way is to let people organise their own courier so they foot the cost. a bit of cardboard on places that need protection is ok on a big cab and drivers appreciate you leaving the handles usable. if you shop around there are some amazing deals on courier fees. hope you get sorted. ad

  4. i have just put a set of TESLA p/j`s in my fretless and they are great, replaced a set of cheap entwhisle ones. then i found an article where a chap had compared all the expensive top end pups and a set of cheap ones and recorded each one playing the same tune and in the same bass. well you could hardly hear any difference if there was any at all!! from a £150 set to a £15. i cant find the bloody article as i would send it to you but now i know i will never bother changing my pick ups again and concentrate more on the pre-amp where a lot of difference can be had. i am sure a lot of folks will disagree with me and i would have been one of the first to do so before but when you think what a pick up is made of a coil of wire there really cant be that much difference from the next. my recommendation for a pre would be a NOLL. i put a true 3 way parametric in my fretted and its awesome. it was bloody expensive but worth every penny. here it is. good luck with your choices. ad

  5. aaah spiders!!! didnt need to see them! glad to see someone posting some proper facts about keeping terrapins. lets hope they go to the right place this time. another so called pet that grows and becomes not so cute. mr bollock has made some valuable points and these are not kids toys and following the "ninja turtle" films england went mad for them and a lot of people flushed them or dumped them in rivers and ponds and in some places they have decimated fish and newt and other native species. i remember walking past a local river and seeing two terrapins sat sunbathing on the side of the river about the size of a dinner plates!

  6. man i am envious. that is one damn nice nice man cave you have there! only trouble is i wouldnt bother going back in the house at all if i had one.

a wonderful thread to have watched but was sadly tarnished by the `nena` revelation! oh dear. its on my list of venomously hated songs along with chris de burgh and everything that oasis ever touted as music.

and as noted above, make sure you guard it well. maybe a little tower manned by a shot gun toting guard and some mains wired booby traps ready for the scum bags.

  7. as mentioned above the style and choice of woods are exceptional on this bass. its too easy to throw everything at designing a bass to try and be different from the next and there are some pig ugly creations out there to prove it. this just oozes class and i cant wait to see it finished. of all the boutique basses i have looked at lately and there is a hell of a lot of them out there, this one is by far my favourite. stunning.
