1. And while we're at it, here's a Foundation fiver... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USA-MADE-PEAVEY-FOUNDATION-5-STRING-BASS-GUITAR-MAPLE-NECK-PASSIVE-TWIN-PICKUPS/131781409290?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140122125356%26meid%3D61ba2c07fc3c4726827de436c280cb44%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D131779267510
2. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peavey-Dyna-bass-5-string-bass-guitar-Immaculate-/182127506487?hash=item2a67a53437:g:XPAAAOSwt7pXM0ue Liverpool, £18 to ship. White. Looks nice. Sadly I'm skint... though I haven't got a Peavey fiver. Tempting.
3. Nice. It's probably just as well the neck is too chunky for me, otherwise I'd be digging the hole deeper...
4. That's not the first I've run across which has been made passive-only. Do their electronics tend to break down?
5.
To me, if a guy has paying work to offer he can be as manipulative as he wants. Blue
If we were getting paid, I'd probably agree. I won't work with her again, for sure.
6. I'm not actually sure. Probably lack of talent. But the leader asked me about six weeks before "Do you think I'm too manipulative?", apparently seriously...
7.
Necessary? No. Will I ever own a bass without them? Also no. I would much rather have the peace of mind. I prefer the schaller straplocks and they're easy to fit...even I could fit them!
This. It's not just gigs. I have had a bass come off its strap while I was in a lesson, minding my own business.
8. It takes practice, but it's worth it
9. CDs for sale, mostly jazz. Postage in UK is included. PayPal Friends (or otherwise with fees covered), please. If that's not possible, let me know and we'll sort something out. £5 John Coltrane Live at the Village Vanguard - The Master Takes £14 Paul Chambers Go £14 Duke Ellington Solos, Duets and Trios (incl. Ellington-Blanton) Gone: [s]£12 Ray Brown, John Clayton, Christian McBride (SuperBass) Live at Sculler's[/s] [s]£10 Throbbing Gristle D.o.A.[/s] [s]£8 Charlie Parker South Of The Border[/s]
10. I may be wrong, indeed. Personally, I wouldn't risk it. Good luck to the buyer
11. It's certainly got something.
12. Without a trussrod... probably not viable with steel strings. It would probably be best to replace the piezo and fit a dummy J-type pup cover, then put plastic strings on it.
13.
Here's a link that's a really useful read as it's one of the few about the saz that's in English! http://www.khafif.com/rhy/saz/
Excellent, thank you
14. up. More to come later, separate thread.
