1. I'm going to see Rush so I can't go. Anyone want the ticket, you'll have to call at my house sometime before tomorrow night. I'd rather a fellow bass player used it, than it went in the bin. PM me if you want it, but be quick.
2. Cheers Dale, but it's already gone up to £28.
3. Ha ha, well Pete I dunno, it cost me 50 quid from a BCer a couple of weeks ago, so I guess I'd want that for it.
4. Couple of days to go bump.
5. Sei, ACG, Overwater, Shuker, doesn't get much better than those does it?

Shukus ??

Wicked Dave.
7. Well I've got to take my vote back. I've ended up using a plec for the first time in about 10 years on a new song in the set. It sounds so much better with a plec, and to be honest, I've enjoyed the feel of it again, so I guess I'm now "pluck and plec" guy too.
8. Anyway, like I said on page one, I've bought a PD-7, thanks for the input.
9. Super Slinkys on the Stingray, TI flats on the jazz.
10. Yamaha NE-1 Nathan East EQ on the bay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=013 Tone Factor 442 Envelope Filter: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=013 I've been trying a few pedals recently, and I'm discovering quickly that I'm not a pedal person, so these are up for sale.
11. Nice bass indeed. Unfortunately, if I want to find my dream bass, a Fender Jazz from the year of my birth, I'd better start saving, because it'd be a '65.

Stingray GAS!

OOOOOHHHHH it's the Aerosmith bass, very very nice indeed.
Can the 2EQ stingray cut through as much as the 3EQ?
YES
13. If anyone gets the chance to go and see Alans band " Nice Guy Eddie" do so, they're such a great band, cool as f*** and tight as a fishes arse (especially when it's their round at the bar). I'm not a soul man particularly, but I loved the set when I saw them. Give me that over some tosser spinning disks, every time.
14.
Paul Simonon...end of debate.
Yes, saw him with The Good The Bad and The Queen a few months back, a very dapper chap indeed.
15. Will do. I just finished learning "Hysteria" for Wednesday, but I doubt the pedal will be here in time for that.
16. Sorted, PD7 on its way to me.
17. Thanks for that.
18. Yeah I just had a look at your list. Tempting, It's a bit more than I wanted to spend really. I'm not generally big on effects, but need some for this new band, I'll give it some thought, thanks.
19.
How much are you looking to spend?
Erm, well I guess £40 or there abouts, less if possible. I can't remember if you had something on your list? If I can find a second hand unit all the better.
20.
Zender takes the top spot for me...But Paul Turner is definitely a VERY cool cat indeed.
Amen brother. Big Dave Swift is a top geezer, seen him play a couple of times, and yes he nails it every time. Mind you, even if he played a bum note, I doubt anyone would have the guts to tell him.
21. Well it all depends on the kind of stuff you play, and the kind of sound you want. All I can say is, the Squier is a great little bass, but so's the OLP, which as you say, has more strings to its bow, litterally. No-one can decide but you, however, if you jump on the Squier VMJ, you won't be sorry, IMO.
22. Hmmm odb-3 eh? well there's certainly plenty of them on the bay, I'm not sure if that's because they're popular or because everyone's trying to get rid of theirs? It's certainly the logical choice as it seems to be a standard pedal board regular, I just wondered what else there was around. The panic to get one is over, as I needed it for Wednesday, that won't happen now, so I've got more time to look around.
23. I'm after some quick advice, as I need to get the pedal asap. I need an overdrive/distortion pedal, fairly cheap as I can't afford boutique stuff at the moment. It's for a couple of Muse covers and other bits and bobs in the set, so I need something with some real distortion not just nice overdrive. Used or new, don't care, I just need it quick, but I don't want something totally crap, it needs to be a decent pedal. I've heard mixed reports on the OD-3, is the Ibanez PD-7 Phat head any good? Is the little Behringer BOD-1 any good? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Stingray GAS!

Mine's a 2 EQ version of the one above. I use that and a jazz live, and at Saturdays gig, the ray sounded so awesome, the jazz didn't get a look in all night. Power, punch and clarity all rolled in to one sexy body................ and the bass is nice too. I'd always wanted one, now I've got one, and it's my number one, I love it.
