1. looks like they've gone.... I'll update to confirm.
2. Could do - not wildly heavy, so shouldn't be too painful - I'd be pretty confident at a tenner.
3. These are "transworld" brand and work just like new... They look like new too - I only took the plastic covering off the "lenses" last week (original owner is one of those people who leaves them on as long as he can!) The transmitter and 1 receiver have SCART plugs, and I've chopped the SCART off the other receiver cable and replaced with phonos (was only going to use for audio) ... I've still got the SCART plug, so you could pop it back on easily enough. Both receivers also transmit IR (for remote control) back to the transmitter, so you can control, not just passively watch/listen from the other room. All transformers are supplied... plug and play! They were taken out of use by the original owner, then given to me ... unfortunately they pick up interference from my wireless broadband, so my multi-room AV plans have taken a more old-skool turn! I'm in Coalville, LE67. Anyone local's welcome to collect, or I can post at cost.
4. I've not read through all 6 pages of this, but... Record something. Doesn't have to be pro-sound, just needs to give you an idea of the sound/feel of the band... Relax, and listen back. ..... You'll then be able to rationally decide if it's you being super-picky (possible if the other band members are only occasionally aware of the issue) or if it's something that needs to be worked on. If it needs to be worked on, a few lessons from a good teacher could do wonders, or, as suggested, a click or whatever. Like you, I'm much happier playing in a band with people I get on with... after all, it's an activity in my leisure time - ... Our singer still has a folder of lyrics - but he's NEVER cancelled at the last minute, is in tune, on time, and owns his own PA..... I can forgive him the folder! .... It's just whether your drummer's time keeping is the equivalent of our singer's lyric sheets, or something much more serious! I once played in a band with a drummer who REALLY couldn't keep time. We tried to help.... In the end, we did as I first suggested, and recorded stuff. He listened. He quit. Nice guy though.
5. It's just an "hours at the bench" job... Cost depends on how easily the neck comes out, (which tends to depend on the glue used by the well meaning DIYer) If you were incredibly lucky, it could be out/back in in an hour. (+overnight drying... you're only looking at £50) That's best case scenario though - realistically, expect another couple of hours work! To repair the button properly, the back needs to come off - Personally, I wouldn't worry about that on one of these... As long as the joint fits properly, it'll be fine. Once the neck's set, you may either need the bridge re-cut, raised and re-cut, or replaced. Is that crack in the chin of the scroll still open too, or is it repaired?
6. You've done some digging to get back to this! It was in July 2010... Confused me when I got a PM about it! I got sick of stuff in my garage, so got the owner to re-house it. I'll edit the original post to say it's gone. Sorry and thanks guys!
7. Lovely, simple it of kit. Does what you'd hope it would... I always said it was one of the bits of kit I'd never sell, but I haven't touched it (except with a duster!) in over 2 years, so it may as well go to a home where it'll be used and appreciated. Has 4 inputs, each with a volume control... Perfect for multiple guitars on stage - no more mismatched volume when changing guitars between songs! Condition: A few holes in the ends where it's been screwed into racks or something, fading where a sticker was on the front panel while it was in a shop window (both done long before my ownership!) otherwise, a nice example. Other than that, totally self explanatory: Collection from Coalville, LE67 Price £60.
8. Nobody after a cheap 1st cab? It needs NO work, NO cleaning, just plug and play! I played festivals through this last summer: ^there it is! (along with my comedy pork pie hat!)
9. ^ Spoke too soon - Now sold pending the usual... Will confirm after the weekend.
10.
mmm, can't wait
I know what you mean - I did Leicester to just past Luton to pick my Eden up... And FatSam, cheers for that - I'm surprised it's still here... I suppose it's just the post-Christmas skint-ness effect...
11. Nice, easy, motorway driving, only 100 miles. ... I'd knock you a tenner off towards your fuel. ... If you don't account your time, it's probably about the cheapest way!
12. Finished on ebay with lots of watchers and no bids. ... So it's still here. ... Really is a belter for the money - outperforms my Eden 4x10"
13. Hunt down the bargains. ... That'll decide if it's a powered desk or seperate desk and amp... As above, for speakers, go for old Peaveys or something. You might never have to "upgrade" from them! Don't forget monitors... if your drummer's anything like ours, he'll play a whole lot better when he can hear the vocal and guitar. (a spare channel on the desk'll let you run the guitar in even if it only gets sent to the monitors on an AUX send, and doesn't actually go "out front") I run a pair of ancient passive wedges that I bought for £50 off a 100W/ch H/H power amp (a further £50 from the cash converter!) - enough for small pub stages/corners. Each buy your own mics, cables and mic stands. ... Lead vocal is more important than backing/harmony, so individuals can save money there (you don't necessarily all need SM58 or similar mics) Other than that, avoid modern cheap amps... A mate of mine bought a 400W/ch power amp... the band stopped using it, and resorted to a Rotel 60W/ch hi fi amp, as it was louder!
14. A few watching on ebay, but no bids... I'll still end the auction early if someone on here wants it.... Nobody's even tried me with offers! Cash or trades considered ... parts, projects, pickups, pedals... try me.
15. Lots of watchers on ebay, but no bids - I'll end the ebay listing early if someone on here wants it.
16. Again, I've seen them for sale, but never in real life... I'd say go for it though - It's unlikely to be the finest timber, or the finest hardwear, but you'll learn lots about finishing and setup... And you know everything'll fit and you won't run into problems. You'll end up with something you built, can use, and be proud of. ... More so than if you'd assembled one from ready finished parts! To be honest - for the price, you can't go far wrong!
17. There are lots of 20W vintage valve amps out there - Look for Linear, RSC etc ... Stuff like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/vintage-valve-amp-LINEAR-audio-amplifier-/260930607238?pt=UK_Consumer_VintageAudio_RL&hash=item3cc0ad1886#ht_1188wt_1344 (Though that looks like a 2x EL34 - nominally a 30W) ... But there were other models. I've got one of the Conchord 30W - sounds lovely on bass through my old Peavey (ish) cab at "living room" volume... Doesn't seem to like my Eden so much. I guess that if you're not running it turned right up, a 5W guitar amp'd work through a bass cab happily? Or an old radiogram amp? That should be voiced pretty neutrally, and again, could be nice through a bass cab ...?
18. Had a couple of PMs, but nothing firm... Going on ebay today. Priority still goes to anyone on here until it gets a bid on ebay.
19. Now on ebay. I'll still consider offers on here though!
20. Trades on parts, pickups, instrument projects.... try me!
