1. I once played with a guitarist who told me "I don't need to learn chords because I'll be solo-ing" Definite emphasis on once played
2. Just wondering if you decided to keep this or if it's still available?
3. Price drop to £320. Also a Sunday bump as well
4. Pm'd...i think. Internet's playing up here
5. Open to trades BUMP. Ideally looking for a Precision with a maple fingerboard. But all suggestions welcome
6. Bored of playing a cover at gigs? No. Bored of rehearsing it? You betcha But then it comes with the territory I suppose. As for hearing it on the radio,CD, iPod etc. I usually end up thinking about one of the good gigs at which I played it (of which there are few ) Or, if I haven't heard it for a while, it makes me want to pick up the bass and learn it again, which is no bad thing!
7. Thanks, it is quite lovely. Oh, and also, Sunday BUMP
8. For sale is a Waterstone Indra semi-hollow bass. I bought this here at the end of October/start of November. Much as I love the full bass whooom (as described by Alfie) sound I get from it, (especially with the La Bella flats it is strung with) I just can't get used to the short scale neck (30"). It is a gorgeous bass with nice binding on the front and back. I've gigged it once and it was gigged before I purchased it. This means there is a small amount of buckle rash on the back that I've tried to capture in one of the pictures, but it is minimal. Weight is between 3 and 3.5 kg (depending on the different scales we have in the house) and it has a lovely glossy finish. £320 collected. Collection is preferred but could post for £20 (Waterstone gig bag included) Bank transfer preferred, but Paypal is also fine. Specifications: Body Type: Semi-hollow, flat top, set neck Body Size: 13 ½"W x 16 ¾"L x 2" Thick Pickups: 2 bass Humbucker Controls: One volume, two tone Bridge: Bass-o-matic Nut Width: 38mm (1.50"), bone Scale Length: 762mm (30") Frets: 21 Neck Style: Slim Unique Features: Short scale, semi-hollow, vintage tone and feel. 9.
I usually just wince at the bum notes
Me too. I usually don't realise I'm doing it though. On another note, I find if I enjoyed the set, I'll always try to have a quick chat with the band/bassist. Even if it's just a quick "Good set dude etc..." If I didn't enjoy it, I don't chat to them afterwards. They still had the balls to get up and play in front of people, something that I'm not really good/confident/cocky enough (delete as appropriate) to do more often.
10. Thanks for the info guys. It is an 8 ohm cab and also I prefer to use a clean tone so I'll be able to keep an ear out for any disgruntled cab noises. Thankfully I'm only doing small gigs atm (think coffee shop sort of thing). Just need to save up and get that second cab now
11. Hey guys (and gals), Apologies for what may be an obvious and/or stupid question (I had a flick through the Wiki and the other pages but I couldn't find an answer) but here goes: Atm I've got a head rated at ~500W and a cab at ~250W (looking to get a second to add to it but funds are low). If I were to (hypothetically) crank the volume and input on the head to maximum would it try and send 500W into the cab and blow the speaker or would it be limited to the cabinets power handling (if that's the correct term) Cheers, Alex
12.
They're all joining up to take advantage of the amazing deals in the For Sale threads I reckon
^This^ And also after lurking for a while, I figured I may as well take the plunge. I mean...what's the worst that could happen...

Hey guys

Hi guys and/or girls. My names Alex and I've been playing bass for a couple of years, have been lurking round this site for a little while now. Thought I'd finally sign up and say hello. Hello. I play a Fender active jazz, currently hoping to get a Hartke LH500 when I get the money (being a poor student and all). My favourite genres are blues rock, metal and stoner rock (Clutch etc.) Hope to speak to you guys some more soon.
