1. Dear all,

I'm shuffling a few things around at the moment and this beauty now needs to find a new home.

I picked this up from Dood a couple of years ago now and it just doesn't get played so much any more. I've moved away from 35s this just doesn't really work for me now. The spec for the bass is in the original thread which I hope Dood doesn't mind me lifting:

http://basschat.co.u..._spector%20euro

The thing I've always enjoyed about this bass and will miss is the B string. I read a lot about how Spectors can sound a little compressed - I'm not so sure myself but this bass does have the best B on any bass I've played. Very tight and focussed, essentially sounds like an E string but lower. Has huge depth but without some of the surplus bass and width that you can hear on some. Anyway, enough drivel, here are some current pics of the bass which is in great condition:

The only things to mention are that one of the pot shafts is a little loose on the knob side plus the bass could do with some new strings. It currently has an old set of Elixirs on it which are fine but a little tired. Depends what you like of course.

So price wise this is pretty crazy. Bottom line I paid £700 for the bass so although it is probably worth more than that I can't really ask for more! The bass is in Norwich if you want to view it or collect, I will ship it to you at your cost. There is no case with the bass, I'll throw in a gigbag if you need one.

Cheers!

2. This was up a while ago with some interest but in the end I held onto it. Now with hopefully a nice modern J 5 on it's way in I really should look to sell this.

The bass is of course one of the 'tanglewaters', a fantastic bass and with many of the really nice features that you would see on one of the premium UK built Overwaters. In conversation with Laurence at Overwater a while ago I remarked how good these basses are for the money...

Anyway, key features are very nice flamed blue finish with matching headstock, maple neck, pearl block inlays, overwater pickups, east 2 band pre with pull bright switch, hefty (not sure how better to describe it) bridge and excellent tuners. All in all this is a really great modern jazz style bass and it works really well. As I said at the top of the thread the only reason for moving it is that it's being superseded.

I'll also thrown in a gig bag for the bass. If you want it posted that's ok but shipping costs are not included in the price which is £300 firm.

The bass is in mint condition and currently strung with d'addario XLs.

Any questions of course get in touch.

Cheers,
ABD

3. This is a mentally fab bass.
Re the stringing I have a w&t 5 34 scale with exactly the same nut. It is designed for e-c but unless you are planning to use a mahoosive b string the nut accommodates b-g no probs at all.
This might be different of course but I think it would be fine...
