Any links for spare bass ukulele machine heads please. Ideally only need one (black, A String). It's off a Harley Benton bass, but I can't seem to see spares via Thomann.

The Ampeg Venture look interesting, and the blend (wet/dry) effects loop is a nice touch at this price point. It seems a shame that they don't offer a variable HPF like Mesa have done. Does anyone know where the Ampeg Venture Heads are assembled?

Loop now sold, just the JAM Delay Llama Mk2 pedal left.

REDUCED
NOW £120 to CLEAR ROOM
Eden WT-405 head.
Brought from these fair islands a few years back as I waiting for Mesa head to arrive / wanted a spare. I have not used in over a year, so it's best to move her on. Sounds great, deep lush Eden tones. Supplied with padded carry case. A couple of the red LEDs don't illuminate and there is the occasional slight background crackle, so amp probably could do with a service, hence price.
405 Watts at 4 ohms. Will do 2 ohms!
Come and try her out.
I am based 5 mins south of Winchester.

Any other users of this, particularly live usage but interested to hear about studio recording too. Particularly would love to hear from any people based on the south coast who may be willing to let a fellow basschater have a look?

Mini rigs are great fun and practical too aren't they, @msb? You've got some great compact set-ups there.
Here's another one of mine in action....

Just popped together and tested a 'Mini Gig Rig' for an upcoming gig where portability is needed (different sets at different parts of a venue) and space somewhat restricted.
I will be using my Bass Block head, GR AT 110 cab, along with (potentially) my cheap but fab HB Uke.

Glad it's all resolved, even with the stress caused. It's certainly not as easy as it was buying from / returning to, Europe et al.

Remember, when you're performing everyone in the audience wants to see you do well, as they want to be entertained. Relax and look out at your supporters. A few slips with an occasional smile from the performers can actually help audiences interact with your act. Have a good time and let us all know how well you do.

Is there any point to the soundhole, the body doesn’t look thick enough to produce much of an acoustic sound and the scratch plate probably deadens it a bit more.
Indeed, I would have preferred to have seen a solid body version, much like the Harley Benton ones (as below). Less feed-back woes etc.

A singer I work closely with is a soprano and she finds her vocal strength/power/volume considerably diminishes below a certain pitch, which is in an alto's comfort zone (165Hz to 330 Hz range). We deal with this with a lot of our material simply by taking the key we are playing in up to suit her vocal register, but there are some songs that span quite a pitch range and taking them up inkey would make the top end too high.
We don't have the luxury of a sound engineer for our gigs and making volume adjustments on the fly and trying to dial that in just for the low register and then cutting back when she hits the higher notes is not going to be practical in a live setting. So ideally we'd like to come up with a "set and forget" option to give her a volume boost just in her lower range.
Our desk is decent, but not amazing in terms of its channel strip EQ, which is 3 band. We do have a variable mids-boost/cut which we could set at 200Hz and maybe give that a 3dB to 6dB boost - will be giving that a try. I'm a little reluctant to be cutting the mids for the other instruments (other than maybe the kick drum) as we would lose the mid-punch for guitar & bass. Just also wondering if an EQ pedal (e.g. the Boss EQ200) would add some value given that it will offer multiple EQ points?
Be very interested to get your thoughts if this is an issue you've come across and solved - I'm aware a fair few on BC have far more in-depth sound engineering expertise than I do!
EQ and/or mulitband compressor might work for one or two songs - so worth experimenting a little. However, this might be a lot of faffing about when other easier and 'less destructive' soloutions might work. For example (you've probably already discussed this), but can Backing Vocals support her with certain passages?

Hi
I use a Mono Vertigo guitar case for my headless SEI Original - it's perfect.

Purchased as second-hand double bass case from Pete. Easy transaction and flexible meet-up. Thanks again!

Empress all the way. https://empresseffects.com/products/bass-compressor
If budget is tighter, then consider the SD Studio Bass, although not quite as versatile. https://www.seymourduncan.com/single-product/studio-bass
All compressors will (to some degree) lift low level hums and noises if they are there, but I am more than happy with the Empress. Owned the Cali for a while but returned it.
