steviedee Posted July 9, 2010 Share Posted July 9, 2010 Took the bass I picked up really cheap off gumtree to a luthier today to fit a new bridge and restring it and I told him it was a cheapie etc and he said it was a really nice instrument, fully carved and in great nick. I stripped the lacquer off it and refinished cos it was a bargain and I fancied a wee mess about. I'm hoping to get it back in a week or two so I'll post some pics... steviedee Posted July 10, 2010 Author Share Posted July 10, 2010 Cheers man I saw it and was sure it was going to be a CCB but turned out to be Romanian and even then I reckoned it would be ply but turned out it was fully carved. Slightly regretted stripping it for a second but it looks cool and I've always fancied a blonde some of the lacquer got into the grain so it's slightly mottled looking but in my eyes gives it a kind of vintage look.... that's what I'm saying anyway.
