Warwick Streamer 1988 Fretless

The bass I thought I'd never sell... :)

1988 Warwick Streamer Fretless, Cherry Wood with EMG pickups, s/n D1285 88. This bass is NOT in mint condition and is a player's instrument. I used this bass as my main instrument for years but not so much recently. There's a few knocks and scratches on the body which only add to its character and don't change the fact that it's a lovely instrument to play. I wouldn't be selling it but I made a trip to see Mark at Bass Direct recently and as a result need to raise some funds!

I'm looking for £850 and I'm not up for trades.

If you want to check out how the bass sounds, I used it to record a few tracks with this band: http://www.myspace.com/thesubensemble (Faster than the sun, Warning Fire & 22:21). I'm happy to record some fresh soundclips if anyone wants them. Also, if there's a particular bit you'd like a photograph of I'd be happy to oblige.

It's a beautiful, light bass with an amazing sound. I'm based in Birmingham and I'd be happy for people to come and try the instrument out. I'm not that keen on posting it and I could probably arrange to meet you somewhere within 30 miles of Brum. If it has to be posted, I've got an old Hiscox hardcase I can send it in which you can have for free (it's got a small crack in it thanks to a Norwegian baggage handler!). Not sure how much it would cost to post, I can look into it if you're interested. Any other questions feel free to ask.

Beautiful looking bass. I have 2 '89 Thumbs (5 st and 6 st) and I can not recommend old Warwicks highly enough.

Have a bump on me.
I really want a Streamer of this vintage - with the dark neck stripes and two-piece bridge - but now is just not the time unfortunately.

Lovely looking bass.
Thanks, it's been a pleasure to own. Still not much interest yet though. I don't really want to have to put this on ebay so I'm open to (sensible!) offers.
Mark must have sold you one hell of a bass for you to part with this!!

The bass sounds stunning BTW. Proper Warwick!
It's got a really great sound and I'm loathed to part with it in a way.

Mark hasn't sold me anything....yet! I'm just doing a bit of fundraising so I can go and properly try a few things out. I've got a very nice CIJ 75 reissue Jazz bass with an Audere pre that I'll be shifting on soon too. I've had one of those out with old in with the new moments! :)

Okay, 400 views and not much interest yet. How about £850?

Here's some photos of the front and a soundclip I recorded for someone who's interested:

Straight into my audio interface with no EQ or processing the clip goes: neck pickup (eq flat), both pickups (eq flat), bridge pick (a little bass boost)

This needs to go!
