bass24
Having just got my first bass guitar I'm needing a combo unit? As its just for home use what sort of power should I be going for? My budget is around the £100 to £150 mark. Any ideas/recommendations would be welcome. Presently I'm running the guitar through a USB Guitar link with Guitar Rig2 into the computer's speakers which is ok initially but a decent combo unit will be better. Thanks in advance. Daquifsta
I use a Laney RB3, which is 65 Watts. Perfect for home use, and can just about keep up at a quiet band practice. should be right on your budget if you want to buy new. Obviously, secondhand gives you many more options, and there's a for sale section a little further down the forum :-)

Well voiced.
lemmywinks
I like the Hartke combos, the Kickbacks or the A70/A100 are all loud little amps. The two A series ones are within budget 2nd hand, you might even get lucky and pick up a kickback for that amount Have a look on eBay for collection-only auctions, that's a great way to snag a bargain as a lot of people won't post amps
MoonBassAlpha
Line6 Lowdown110 is small and sounds good. Should be smack in your range s/h. Good DI out too, so you can use it on gigs ifthe band isn't very loud. I had one and would heartily recommend it. I only got rid as I got a Shuttle and made a teeny 1x10" cab for practice/acoustic gigs, which weighs less than the Lowdown and goes louder (but is over your budget by 2.5 times)
