Maple or rosewood fretboard for Fender American P Bass

Maple all the way, i prefer it to the rosewood board i had on mim jazz

i find as rosewood is 'softer' and warmer it is easier to play. When i got my '57 reissue i was amazed how much sound i was getting off the fretboard due to me bad technique that just haddnt been picked up on my rosewood boarded shark.

I personally cant imagine how on a P which is traditionally a wee bit muddy why you would want something that takes the top end off a bit.
