Arse-Bilge of the highest order. Couldn't organise a Bacchanal in a Vintners. Rubbish. Don't like them at all.

AN HOUR to get from Waterloo to Guildford. Stopped once at Woking. Pathetic.

Bring back BR, I say.
+1 to that sentiment.

These are Virgins figures for punctuality , that is within 10 minutes of schedueled time.

The financial year 2001-2 up to 31 March 2002: West Coast 68.7%, Cross Country 62.5%
The financial year 2002-3 up to 31 March 2003: West Coast 73.5%, Cross Country 61.7%
The financial year 2003-4 up to 31 March 2004: West Coast 74.8%, Cross Country 72.2%
The financial year 2004-5 up to 31 March 2005: West Coast 72.1%, Cross Country 77.8%
The financial year 2005-6 up to 31 March 2006: West Coast 83.5%, Cross Country 80.9%
The financial year 2006-7 up to 31 March 2007: West Coast 86.0%, Cross Country 83.9%

Class 87 electric locomotive and Mark 3 coaches.
The financial year 2007-8 up to 31 March 2008: West Coast 86.2%
The financial year 2008-9 up to 31 March 2009: West Coast 80.0%

Back in the bad old days of BR Intercity the figures were generally around the 96% - 98% mark , progress ?
Many of the trains were 11 coach hauled by a Class 87 , not 8 car Pendolinos or 5 car Voyagers.

What few people realise is that the 'privatised' railway is costing the taxpayer more now than it did under BR

I use SWT daily from Twickenham -Waterloo. Not too bad(but then I leave real early)
The last real problems I had ,was in the heatwave last year ,when on the way home,
the trains were breaking down and diverting because of problem at Feltham. All week.

When it comes to weekends, that's a different matter: I expect the trains not to run,
but if they do, it's a bonus. (weekend rail works etc.)
Also, in the last 2 weeks on a sunday, returning from Waterloo 'there is no driver'!!
Plus there are only 4 carriages, right at the top of the platform, complete with bawling babies, prams,
bikes etc.

SWT are too hot imho on penalising people, when it's not the customers fault.
Odd thing happened on Friday eve. btw: A beggar was walikng up and down the train begging.
Why wasn't he escorted off the train? This was about 9.14.pm

Also: I really ,really hate that bitch's patronising voice on the train!
I've been on other trainlines, and the women's voices are more relaxed

Rant over :)
