Am I correct in thinking that the Aguilar Tone Hammer does the same kind of thing as a Sansamp bddi and an MXR M80? Have never had the chance to try one out. What do peopl think of them? Did a bit of a search but nothing much came up. Thanks,Tim.
I am a little bit confused... what do you mean exacly with "the same kind of thing"?

I've not tried the Tone Hammer, but I do know it does not have tube-emulating circuitry like the Sansamp pedals. As for drive, it has a "gain" knob, so maybe it'll do well for pushing a tube amp harder into overdrive.

Hopefully someone who's actually tried one can chime in. I get the impression, though, like it's more about tone shaping with the EQ, than adding drive/warmth to your single by way of a drive circuit.

PM Musicman20 (Gareth). He has both the TH and Sansamp i believe.

It was him that put me on to the TH but after some research i decided to go for a BDDI at some point. I dont really want distortion, just a bit of tube warmth.
At the moment im using a Behringer BDI21 9BDDI clone) and to be honest its doing a great job. Not bad for £22.
