supabock Posted October 5, 2009 Share Posted October 5, 2009 (edited) Hi All, Does anyone here know of, or have an adapter that can convert an old set of organ bass pedals to be MIDI compatible. I have sourced one kit from the net but despite waiting 6 or more weeks for the item, it appears to be DOA Has anyone tinkered with their own home project or actually made a converter or can point me in the right direction with results they can share with me?? Not sure if this needs a new thread, but what is the best MIDI interface (i.e. for pluggin the midi out of a keyboard into a mac) and whats the best software to use thats free? supabock Posted October 7, 2009 Author Share Posted October 7, 2009 They are just a regular set of effectively analogue organ pedals which have all the connectors and switches working just the output needs to go into a converter in order to process and talk to a sound module. Thats where the problem lies. The converter i bought from a source on the net doesnt seem to function and my tech support emails are being ignored, so i cant tell if the item is DOA or what? These blokes are absolute midi genii??? (spelling) Im not sure of the collective of genius................anyway, they seem to do a kit for every piece of gear or could advise you of possible sources of research. If you wanted to try rolling your own, you could get an [url="http://www.arduino.cc/"]Arduino[/url] duemilanove and program it to read the switches (you'd need to multiplex the switches) and output a MIDI signal.
