I'm into playing math rock, stoner, post-rock, some metal, some hardcore, noise etc. Right now I'm playing an Epiphone T-Bird through a Blackstar HT-5 guitar combo at home. Math rock is sort of a sub-genre of indie rock with a lot of complex riffs and odd time signatures (hence math rock). It can be but isn't always harsh and noisy. Bands to check out would be Slint, Shellac, Battles, Oxes, Don Caballero, LITE from Japan to name a few. Hardcore bands with a math rock element include Dillinger Escape Plan, Botch and Converge.
