I have been playing for around a year and play lots of metal, Avenged Sevenfold, Lamb of God etc. I have a Yamaha RBX 170 Blue bass with a Fender Rumble 15, 15w bass amp. One piece of advice, do not do what I did several years ago - stop playing, then sell your gear in order to buy something else and spend a lot of time regretting it.
