Skywalker83 Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 I'm getting a 33" scale 6 string made for me, i just wondered is 18mm too wide for a bass of this scale? Is it going to give me a huge wide neck? Also can anyone estimate what the width at the nut would be, on a 33" scale with 18mm string spacing? Quote
velvetkevorkian Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Your nut spacing isn't related to the bridge spacing- different instruments have different degrees of taper, so you should be able to specify your nut and bridge spacing to suit you surely? Quote

urb Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 My single cut Sei is both 33" scale and has 18mm spacing - it took a little getting used to after playing a warwick Thumbfor 18 years but I'm used to it now - no reason for you to stick to those measurements if you want it tighter spaced but I like it now, do what you want especially on a custom bass.
