Hi - new to forum and hoping somebody can help me..... I am consdering purchasing either a TT-800 or D-800+ - does anyone know if either/both of these models are due to go end of life? They are hard to find in stock for the UK. I purchased a brand new D-800+ which arrived without the gig bag, and emails to Mesa Boogie and Gibson have been ignored and the retailer is simply asking me to return it for refund - the problem is I can't find anyone else with stock. thanks

I've had a D800+ as my workhorse amp for a number of years now.  They are fantastic, on their own or I put a valve pre-amp on the front end for an extra vintage sound.  I find the high pass filter really effective to tackle boom in different venues.  The bag thing is annoying, but they are not much to shout about to be honest.  Roqsolid would probably make one for c£50 which would be much better, or ask Bass Direct whether they have something in stock that would work.  I would hold onto that amp.  There are also a lot of lovers of Mesa here and they come up quite often.

I have both of these, excellent amps. I got the TT800 first, then the D800+, and use them with a pair of subway 210s.  The D800+ has a clarity and immediacy to the sound, kind of like a GK but not quite, Which the TT800 is slightly more woolly with some harmonics, and compresses nicely when pushed. I haven't really used the subway channel on the TT much,  its kinda a halfway house between the two as its still got a tube front end. Both excellent amps and you'd be happy with either, just very different flavours. Mesa stuff has been quite difficult to get hold of in the UK, but I believe this is improving now. I'm currently waiting on the new Bass 800 head to arrive!
