MrTea Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I have a East MMSR preamp I'm keen to get fitted into my Musicman USA sub but just haven't found the time to do this yet. Having read the instructions on the East website I'm not 100% on what I connect where. From my understanding the pickup goes into the solderless connections on the bass/treble board (first empty set of connections to the left of the pot on the right in my picture). The wire coming off the jack presumably needs to join the current earth. But where does the battery need to be connected? Is there any risk of frying this if I get it wrong? Any help much appreciated! Quote
songofthewind Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Looks like the battery clip is missing in your pic. Red and black wires should connect to missing battery clip, I think, via the wee green connector block. 1 Quote
MrTea Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago That would make sense (and fine as I have a battery compartment already in the bass). So the battery connects to that connector block above the control plate at the top of my picture. Quote
ikay Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Here's your pic with the connection schematics added above each board. The pickup wires connect as you say to the BTB board on the right. Looks like the battery wires go to the floating connector with the red and black wires. By convention the red wire should be +ve but you can check that by tracing it back to where it's connected to the board and comparing with the schematic. 1 Quote
