blibbers Posted Wednesday at 12:58 Posted Wednesday at 12:58 I was looking for a new tuner and came across this. There doesn't seem to be much information about it online. Any conversations I've seen have turned into the ethics of cloning a pedal. The exterior of the DemonFX pedal is a blatant ripoff of the Sonic Research Turbo Tuner but does anyone know if the internals are the same or is it the same as all the other cheap tuner pedals floating around? At £35 it's a fraction of the price of the genuine pedal, but it's pretty expensive if it's as slow and noisy as the Donner type pedals. I'm almost curious enough to get one to have a peek at the insides. Quote
Sibob Posted Wednesday at 20:23 Posted Wednesday at 20:23 Yeah DemonFX are pretty well-known for their borderline counterfeiting of well-known pedals. I wouldn’t touch them with a barge-pole, who knows what’s going on under the hood. Some people seems happy with them, but I’ve heard reports of noisy pedals and all sorts of crap-outs you’d expect of such things. YMMV. Si 1 Quote
Gank Bass Posted Thursday at 18:38 Posted Thursday at 18:38 For that price you can get a very dependable second hand tuner, much safer! 1 Quote
Sibob Posted Thursday at 21:04 Posted Thursday at 21:04 Yes exactly, plenty of TC PolyTunes for £30-40 used. Si 1 Quote
blibbers Posted Friday at 15:50 Author Posted Friday at 15:50 I'm more interested in seeing the internals to get an idea of what actual circuit they're using, or how they're doing DSP. It looks like the ST-200 uses a MM74HC Quote

AxelF Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago That is a shot of the original thankfully - if they'd even cloned the designer's name on the PCB that would be mind boggling! Not that they're too far off that, if at all, already mind. Quote
