Rayman Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Can anyone assist? I have an active bass, that I was doing some work on…. I needed to put it face down on a raised surface, and that raised surface was an upturned speaker, with a giant magnet on the back… so, after resting the bass on the speaker, on its pickups….. 🤦🏻♂️, it now doesn’t work. I assume that the magnet has affected the polarity of the magnets in the pickups? Anything I can do to reverse the damage? Quote
Hellzero Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago To reverse the demagnetisation, you'll need a lot of specially designed apparatuses, so it will be cheaper to change the pickup... 1 Quote
itu Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago If the magnets can be taken away, they can be replaced or magnetized. If the pickups are packed into resin, then it is easier to use a specific magnetizer or change the pickups. 1 Quote
