sharkboy Posted Saturday at 16:27 Posted Saturday at 16:27 Help me, Basschat patrons, you're my only hope! My trusty Blacksmith amp took a bit of a tumble offstage, which resulted in the shearing of three of the EQ knobs and shafts. I've tried to contact TC through the MusicTribe forums but after an hour of going round in circles, im losing the will to live! Do any of you wonderful people know where I can pick up replacements? I appreciate that this will probably need new pots as well 1 Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted Saturday at 19:37 Posted Saturday at 19:37 You could file down some round bar and use it as a peg to reattach the old knobs - if you have them. Quote
PaulThePlug Posted Saturday at 20:41 Posted Saturday at 20:41 Gonna be a bit of open heart surgery for pics n spec of pots... It's Phillips O'clock. Quote
sharkboy Posted 16 hours ago Author Posted 16 hours ago Managed to track down some knobs, now it looks like I’ll have to jury rig some new shafts. Oh well, time to fire up the Dremel! Quote
Uncle Rodney Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) My suggestion, open the unit up, take a good close up photo of the "pot" (potentiometer), we need to see how it is mounted to the PCB and to the front panel, from that it's possible to guess what it type is going to be. We also need to see its resistance value (and taper) so look for something like 200KB, A10K it's usually printed on the "pot" in black or white ink. I would have thought Music Tribe would direct you to their Service Centre, but I know sometimes that doesn't always get a result. Edited 4 hours ago by Uncle Rodney Quote
paul_5 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago If you pop the top then you should be able to see the value and taper of the pots. I’ve got an old TC head that’s broken that I don’t mind desoldering them on mine if they’re the same value. Quote
