LowEndMatt Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Hi All. Player from the States here scouring the internet to see if my fellow low end friends can help me track down dimensions/tracing of custom G&L L2000 Tribute pickguard. I just picked up a left-handed model so I figured it would be easier to find a right handed template and flipping it so my luthier can start working. I found a template from Talkbass however it doesn't seem to fit the tribute without some modifications to the lower horn and the pickups. I suspect it may be for a regular or older L2000 and maybe there were some slight differences in the body dimensions. Any direction would be greatly appreciated. - Matt Quote
Jakester Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Hi Matt - I may have a pickguard lying around somewhere. I definitely had an L2000 or M2000 (can't remember which) and bought a pickguard off someone on here which fit perfectly. I'll have a dig through and see if I can find it. Quote

Jack Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Welcome! I don't think there are any shape differences between the tribute and the USA models. Quote

I found a copy that was 90% there and took it to my luthier who is working on it over the weekend. I should have it back by next week. I'll post photos and a tracing for future use! Thanks all Quote
Jakester Posted September 5 Posted September 5 I've found it, but it sounds like you don't now need it.... Quote
Silky999 Posted September 6 Posted September 6 (edited) Not the best photo but I had this white pearl one made for my blue burst Tribute L2000 by a chap, earlpilanz who I found on eBay,for about £43. Just in case you wanted another option. I also fitted a Japanese tribute neck that I imported to it as it was more jazz bass nut width than the standard one. Apparently you could order the Japanese premiums (tributes) with a choice of 2 nut widths. https://ebay.us/m/2veGqa Edited September 6 by Silky999 Quote

My goal is to collect all the available tracings I have and put together a repository on a few different bass sites, G&L forums, etc. so people have resources to leverage to save time! Everything helps! Quote
