Thinking about a new bass after 4 months, need some advice

Hi everyone,
I’m Skyler and pretty new here. I’ve been playing a Squier Classic Vibe ’60s Jazz Bass for about 4 months now. It’s been great for learning and practicing, but lately I’ve been thinking about upgrading to something a bit higher-end.

For those of you who have more experience, what would you recommend as a good next step? I’m open to different brands and models, but I’d like something versatile enough for both practice and gigging in the near future.

Any suggestions or experiences you can share would be really appreciated!

A Squier CV is more than "good enough" for practicing and gigging, so we really need to know why it isn't floating your boat.
