BobNeville12 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I've got a vintera precision, about six months old.my problem is the d string buzzes on the lower frets.to stop it I have to add really high relief, but the frets choke out on the highest frets.its also digustingly crap to play.if I set relief to .30mm at the eighth fret and action at 5/64ths on E at the 17th fret,it plays beautifully everywhere except for the D at the low frets.ive since levelled the frets and it's still doing it.ive tried three different sets of strings,la bella ,ghs precision and fender flats.im at a loss.any ideas? Silky999 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Have you checked if the nut slot for the D is too low or a twisted neck? Quote
Lozz196 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Another possible buzz issue is the spring on the bridge if not fully stretched. It seems like fret buzz but actually from the other end of the bass so took me a fair while to identify when it happened on one of my basses. Quote
BobNeville12 Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago The neck doesn't look twisted, but could a low nut slot cause buzz on fretted notes?if so I'll check.what would be an ideal clearance for the D string at the first fret? Quote
