soulstar89 Posted Thursday at 22:00 Posted Thursday at 22:00 Went to watch band resolution 88 at jazz refreshed, 91 livingroom brick lane. They play jazz fusion. Really really solid group. Bass player was right in the pocket. If you ever get a chance I would give them a listen or go watch. Really enjoyed them. 3 Quote
toneknob Posted Friday at 15:38 Posted Friday at 15:38 Yeah, they're great aren't they. I've seen them once before and had a chat with the bassist, who I recall as a super nice chap. Turns out, having consulted the history books, that gig was a support slot for Medeski Martin & Wood at Under the Bridge in April 2014! Where does time go. Must check them out again. Quote

He was a really chilled nice person. It was so so hot in the venue. I hadn’t seen them before but when I saw the kind of music they do I just bought the tickets. Well work the money. I’ll have to check out medeski martin and wood. Quote
Terry M. Posted Friday at 21:04 Posted Friday at 21:04 Excellent band.Seen them a few times at Jazz Refreshed when it was in The Mau-Mau bar on Portobello Road. Very Herbie Hancock influenced during the Headhunters era. The bassist was Brazilian Tiago Coimbra and he played at the time a blue Warwick Infinity bass. The front man Tom O'Grady on keys I always found exceptionally pleasant to talk to,I found Tiago on the "shy" side when I spoke with him but pleasant enough ☺️ Glad they're still going. Quote
spencer.b Posted Saturday at 10:37 Posted Saturday at 10:37 Check this one out , bit of a bass feature in the Paul Jackson mould Funnily enough I did a gig with Tom the band leader last night doing a jazz thing , great player and really nice guy 2 Quote
Bilbo Posted yesterday at 06:34 Posted yesterday at 06:34 (edited) I depped for Tiago once (I believe he is in Cambridge). Apparently, he was in college with pianist Hiromi Uehera and played in her trio. I had not heard this band although I think I have heard of them somewhere on my travels. Sounds great. I'd dep for him with this lot if he ever needed me to 🤪 Just looked it up. It was a band Tiago played in called Q3 led by pianist/composer Martin Hallmark. All original compositions. It was a nice gig. Electric bass (my favourite). Edited yesterday at 06:46 by Bilbo 1 Quote

I LOVE the albums they did together. The bass player wasn’t playing a Warwick. I couldn’t tell what it was. It could have been a MTD as the headstock has a circle logo. Once I couldn’t tell I just enjoyed the music lol. Quote

No I think Tiago moved that Warwick along some years back as I've seen him after that rocking a Sire at one point. 1 Quote
tcbass Posted yesterday at 17:06 Posted yesterday at 17:06 (edited) Thanks for all the kind comments. I love playing with Resolution 88, it’s been 10 years of great and quite challenging music. I mainly play an anaconda Ultra J bass elite but did and still play my Warwick infinity 5 when the music requires it. On the records I also used a really nice 76 fender jazz bass that sounds great, super greasy. thanks once again for the support!! Tiago Edited yesterday at 17:06 by tcbass 3 Quote

You sat in the pocket effortlessly. You made it seem super natural. The whole band did great is such a hot venue. I questioned my life choices with the clothes I decided to wear to the gig lol. Hope to see you catch the band again. Quote
