Speaker connections

This is probably a stupid question but here goes.
On my Ashdown RM500 amp, does it matter which Speakon socket I use?

I always use the top one but I find that when I am disconnecting the speaker, the back of the amp casing is a bit tight.
The lower one would be easier but I don’t want to cause a problem.
The speaker is a Barefaced 210 retro if that makes a difference.

No, it doesn't. They are connected internally, and are there simply to allow two 8 Ohm cabs to be connected at the same time (so tha amp 'sees' 4 Ohm...). For only one cab, either socket is fine. :rWNVV2D:
