Warwick Gnome or Trace Elf?

I have the Elf head and run it through 2 x 10" elf cabs.

The sound is AMAZING.  The key to the Elf head is the gain dial.  I set mine to around 1 o clock and this, to me, is a joy to play and sounds lovely.  Master volume at 12 for a medium / large function gig.

The green light on the elf shows input signal, yellow means slight drive and red means more drive.  The compressor kicks in more on the red but isn't a drastic compression to my ears.  I often get compliments on my tone (wish I got more for my playing!).

For rehearsal with a loud drummer I just use 1 x 10" elf cab.  For gigs I use both.

DI out works well too.

I play a Stingray HH and I'd say I'm a fairly light player in terms of how hard I pluck the strings (fingers, not pick).

I'm reading this post as I want a backup head and considering the cheaper Warwick instead of another Elf purely down to price.

Considering a gnome as a backup. Anyone tried both the 200w and 280w version. Is there much noticeable difference in volume?

There shouldn't be.

Theoretically the difference in output volume between 200W and 280W would be something like 1dB.
