Just sold the the Bass these were on so surplus to requirements. I bought these on here, they had been purchased Brand new and put on a Mustang, but Barely used. I fitted then through the body on a Sire U5, recorded with them once,then put the bass  in the rack unplayed. These still sound fairly bright, they've bedded in a little, but will mellow more over time.

 

Tomastics have a lovely mid voice and a smooth low end, with sweet highs, very like a quality orchestral string (it's what they do😁) they are also very low Tension, so very easy to play.

 

As stated these were through body, and not cut much, but these are short scale.
