Probably the best bass I've ever owned. However as it's sitting under the stairs unplayed since I've rekindled my love of all things Musicman, it's up for grabs.

It's a Fender Custom Shop Custom Classic Jazz Bass in Mercedes Blue made in 2010.

Easily the best neck I've ever owned. Quarter sawn maple with a rosewood fingerboard and pearl inlays. It has the smoothest finish with lovely rolled edges to the fingerboard.

The original pre amp and pickups were not to my taste (too brittle sounding and an unreliable jack socket) so I pulled them out and replaced them with EMG JV pickups with a BTS control system. (Separate bass and treble controls and a pickup pan) I also fitted the correct Hipshot extender. (original E tuner is in the case)

All the paperwork is there including the birth certificate signed by those lovely Fender people.

There are a few blemishes to the paint work on the body. I've tried to show them in the pictures. The neck is unblemished apart from the tiniest dent on the far end of the headstock.

Currently it has flats on.

I had a few of these back in the day and found them all to be really well made basses. Never had a Mercedes blue one though! GLWTS.
