Fender Marcus Miller 5 String For Sale

 

Making way for a new purchase is my treasured 2013 USA Marcus miller bass

Upgraded with John East Retro 01 pre amp and Nordstrand NJ5FS pups giving it a lovely deep rich tone.

I have kept the original pre amp and pick ups for anyone who wanted to swap back to original.

Comes with Fender Hard case.

One tiny ding on strap horn as shown in photo.

Ooh very nice, and as you say a pretty rare instrument. Just love the aged look neck and the block inlays. The mod sounds nice compared to the “boost only” EQ of the original. GLWTS

It’s a great guitar and the mod to elect really does make a difference. Need a serek midwestern for a project that needs an older woody sound… so sadly I’m parting with it. Another one to regret letting go at some point. 😂

I had one of these once. Completely different to the Japanese made 4-string (although that’s good too). A real air of class about it, like a custom shop model. IMHO the only weak point was the preamp, which as kind of a precursor to the Sadowsky 2-band is an acquired taste - and you’ve sorted that with a much more flexible and musical preamp. I dare say the Nordstands lift the tone, too. The string trees leave a nice break angle at the nut and IIRC the B string was well above average, I think party due to this. So tempting but GAS funds have been depleted after a couple of recent purchases. GLWTS.

Thanks… The original pre amp is definitely the worst part but the John East has sorted it out nicely. It’s one of the nicest 5 strings I’ve played but doing more gigs with four strings and just bought a Serek midwestern 2 so albeit sad… this has to go. 😐
