The Sterling by Music Man StingRay5 Classic Bass is a stripped-back version of the iconic Music Man StingRay. Crafted in Indonesia, the Sterling StingRay5 Classic offers players a great-value entry-point into the Music Man family, with a specification that makes it a thoroughly professional instrument in its own right. This instrument features an additional 5th string, based on the Music Man "SLO Special" for an extended low-range that is ideal for rockers, jazz players, session players, and more.

The Iconic StingRay5 Design

The StingRay body is designed with sleek contours to enable a comfortable playing experience whether stood up or sat down. The double cutaway design enables easy access to the top frets, so you'll have no problems playing solos and chordal parts. The Sterling StingRay5 Classic's body is constructed from mahogany for a warm and resonant sound, with the iconic pickguard and control plate giving you the same stand-out looks of the Music Man StingRay.

Smooth Playing Neck

A Hard Maple neck gives the StingRay5 Classic a smooth playing feel and a bright addition to your tone. The neck is mounted to the body with a contoured 6-bolt joint - designed to keep your hand free from any barriers at the top end of the neck. The 38mm nut is narrower than previous models and creates a tighter string gap for smoother string-crossing.  The 12'' fingerboard radius provides a flat surface for enhanced balance when crossing strings - perfect for technical playing over the extended range of 5 strings.

Single Humbucker and Active 2-Band EQ

The single humbucker gives a raunchy sound that is ideal for modern styles of music. A 2-band active EQ allows you to sculpt your tone, with controls to boost/cut the treble and bass. Whether you want a fat bottom-end or crisp treble frequencies, the StingRay5 Classic's simple control setup lets you get the perfect sound with the minimum of fuss.

Stable Hardware

The standard Sterling bridge features 5 individual saddles, letting you set up the perfect string-action and intonation. The bridge is based on the high-mass Music Man bridge and provides great tuning stability with optimal string vibration transfer. Open gear tuners complement the bridge's stability, offering quick and accurate tuning. This hardware is combined with a quality set of tonewoods and strong 6-bolt neck joint to create a stable instrument that any professional would be happy use.

Looks like times are having a huge effect on resales. Stuff is only worth what some one will pay . So think it may be best to hold on to her. Already withdrew once maybe should have not relished. Think I’ll give it 24 hrs then forget it. I do like it.
