JPJ Posted August 25, 2022 Posted August 25, 2022 I’ve got five of these to use on those rare acoustic gigs, and I also use them with the electric band for our fiddle player. Behringer DI100 https://www.andertons.co.uk/behringer-di100-ultra-di-di100?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxKG_zdLh-QIVloFQBh3-pwlpEAQYBSABEgJ_1vD_BwE Never had to use one for my electric bass and in truth my always on SansAmp would do that job anyway but I do think they are great value for money. Chris Storrier Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Try not to buy to cheap, unless an active bass an active DI is better for passive bass's, Warm make a fantastic mic level multi instrument active DI, 48v Phantom Power, has a level pot for your DI output, very useful, & has a high quality transformer for a better, cleaner sound, works on many instruments from bass to keyboards, guitar, anything needing a good DI signal, Sushi Box Finally V3 DI has a real 12AX7 tube, variable LPF, real RoHS transformer, very handy well made tube DI for bass guitar, i carry a spare active NU-X MLD Pre-amp/DI pedal & a new 9v battery connector to 2.1mm power input incase of a power break & a spare back-up...great switching options & can be used as a re-amp box with a built in drum machine & 3.5mm headphone input, 3.5mm stereo input for your phone or other 3.5mm music player for practise, it can be used as a bass Pre-amp/DI box or just a good direct DI, very good quality..... rmorris Posted September 25 Posted September 25 OTOH - inexpensive and sounds really good: https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Behringer-DI100-Ultra-DI-Box/2BI?origin=product-ads&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22232762342&gbraid=0AAAAAD_kjLTI_Oh9Iv3lztl_KaXU4fl_a&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0NPGBhCDARIsAGAzpp2Wq7LT9T4YMG8IabO6NcuZeJGgXe-SOYKvopvrPK4Q5zuf6R2dlwsaAn6bEALw_wcB Active with transformer output. Note - don't confuse with their Ultra-DI D120 box - it's a noise machine !!! Quote
Chris Storrier Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) I ended up buying an extra DI box, the AEA TDI DI mono box, 50ohm XLR output, 48v phantom power, very low noise floor, sounds fantastic, hi-end DI with -20db pad, sheilded Lehle (German) transformer, fantastic for bass as well as most instruments, some guy & his band recorded a cover version of "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" using just the AEA TDI, very impressed, neautral, transparent with a tight low bottom end with no audable noise, sells for £299 but got mine for £192, well pleased.....
