Talking Bass lessons query

Hi all,

 

It has been suggested that I use a platform such as Talking Bass or Scotts Bass lessons to learn the instrument. I've had a look on the Talking Bass website and I see they have some paid courses, too. Are these worth the money or will the free content be adequate to get me started? Wondering wether to get the Beginner Bass Course or not.

Hi Biscuit Bass. Absolutely! Mark at Talking Bass is one of the very best online tutors out there IMO: he provides, excellent, clear usable lesson tuition and materials and often at around £1 / lesson it's fantastic value for money.  But maybe dip into his free material first to give yourself a flavour of his style and approach?

Another vote for Talking Bass. IMO there is enough in the free stuff to get you off to a good start. If you are a complete beginner, I would recommend a few face to face lessons with a "real " teacher first.

I agree that both Mark and Scott are great online tutors but personally I'd use up what I need from the free lessons before moving to the paid stuff.

 

If your playing doesn't go up several levels from the free lessons the paid stuff probably won't help.
