Quilly
If you wanted something cheap and cheerful a hybrid like a second hand Orange Terror bass, they’re not the quietest Amps but do that rock grind thingy and there’s a load of them around for about £300-350. Just make sure that power fault that plagues the early models has been addressed. I recently acquired an Ashdown Spyder 550, basic passive EQ with solid state power section . Does that Jean-Jacques Brunel dirty p bass thing a treat ! I think you don’t want a higher end class D amp like a Glockenklang or EBS
Rollin Thunder
Opened a can of works with this thread (in a good way) so much to choose from. Personally i would go for a British or British sounding amp. Think you won't go far wrong with the Laney nexus, like the look of that myself, Birmingham brand. Ashdown original range or ash down anything really. Trace Elliot Elf, Peavey max range, Peavey own both and trace was a British brand and Peavey max range are top notch. Orange four strokes have been mentioned another good shout though not played one myself. If you have a Stomp you probably have all the sound you need. The acoustic, del sol, fender Bassman, Ampeg, maybe a powered cab is the way forward (apologies if said elsewhere) Edited April 19, 2020 by Rollin Thunder

In the end, considering the heft and feel I wanted for this specific project (to fill the sound) I went for an Ashdown ctm300. Hopefully will arrive this week.
