Tait Posted February 13, 2009 Share Posted February 13, 2009 OP, have you read the sticky about buying your first bass? helpful stuff there. and theres an excellent article in the wiki about buying your first bass that you probably wont have read. other than that, id agree with the buying second hand idea, you want a decent resale value if its your first bass, you may well give up. every ibanez i've played has been brilliant, a really underrated brand. if you can get one of the active OLPs, also great basses, although an ibanez ATK sounds as close to a stingray as the active OLPs. my personal favourite ever stock bass is the ibanez SR500, its a phenomenal bass. i keep meaning to write a review on the SR500 cos i rave about it so much, but then i keep forgetting.
