Stingray Porn

I thought I would post some pics of my new Stingray. The serial number dates it to 1998. Its in great condition, and the neck has a hint of birdseye maple to it, which doesn't really come out on the photos. I used to have a 3 band 'ray, but I have to say I prefer the sound of this one.

The final pic is the Stingray with its new friends - CIJ 70s Precision, Warwick Thumb BO, Corvette $$ (for sale), fretless Precision, Ibanez ATK305 (for sale), and a cheapo upright. Oh, and a couple of those pesky little 6 string things.
That Ric 330 has made me feel all funny
It is nice. I'd love a mapleglo 4003 to hang next to it, but as much as I love the look of Ric basses, I just can't seem to get on with them tone wise.

I've got the mapleglo 4003 and am hankering after a mapleglo 330 or 360. I've never played one (played a 330 years and years ago) but just love their style.

Nice collection by the way.

Well ok I give in... here's my beloved Stingray bought last year off a fellow Bcer. Made Oct 3rd 2006 and all original and has just come back from the wonderful David Wilson Guitars having had the neck re-finished from natural to hi gloss and a full set up. Plays beautifully and gigged on friday, its my main gigging bass but i always grab my Sandberg for rehearsal and most nights practice and noodling. I have put a picture of it with my other my basses. The Ricky 4003 is a 2005 colour of the year in Blueburst and has just had a hipshot bridge fitted and the annoying PUP cover removed, and a full setup.... again carried out by David Wilson. My fourth Bass is a 2008 P bass MIA but is undergoing some custom work at DW. inc a colour change, a new custom made vintage profile maple hi-gloss neck, matching headstock colour to body and Lindy Frailin vintage wound PUPs. I will post this when it arrives but it maybe after summer as DW is so busy. Top luthier though, i highly recommend him.
Enjoy
regards
Keith

OK, mine ain't the Stingray but the Sabre (aka late 70's) with the finish very similar to Simon's Stingray, so I'd thought I'd post some photos here.

Never seen this configuration (it's got an extra knob) and can't find schematic for it on the web (perhaps someone can help), therefore I think it has been modified at some point.
Plays great and it's got a great tone.

Contemplating replacement of the existing pre-amp for Aguilar OBP-2 pre-amp (not 100% happy with the current one), but worried about loosing its Sabreness in the process. Does anybody have any thoughts about this combination (MM Sabre/OBP-2)?
