Mike Lull V4 fretless immaculate SOLD
Salsomaggiore terme, Italy

Recommended Posts

Up for sale is this Oly white V4 Jazz from the good Mike.

Everything as spec'd by Mike: alder body in Oly white finish, slim reinforced maple neck with lined ebony board (original from manufacture, not modified afterwards) and matching headstock, Lindy Fralin Vintage single coil PUs.

It was originally wired vol, vol, tone, but I felt more comfortable with vol, balance, tone.

White pearloid pickguard is the original but I'll sell it with the additional mighty Mike tortoise one seen in the pics.

Will be equipped with the original ultralite hipshot, the lollipop ones were bought after for the look.

Definitely light, haven't weighted it yet but must certainly be nicely below 4kg, and very well balanced.

The bass sound great and is in immaculate condition, couldn't find scratches or ding even under angled light.

Original hardcase (special edition for this bass, as I was told from the local Lull dealer) is included.

Can post it if needed, bass is located in Italy (Salsomaggiore is near Parma).

Any question I'm here.

Not specifically looking for trades and I would consider trade value slightly higher probably, but if you have something to propose go ahead, in the worst case I'll gently decline.

And now the porn part of the discussion:

I like this a lot honestly, I might withdraw this as well if I change my mind. Only reason for selling is that I'd be very fancy for a real jb from the 60s, or eventually a Fodera, and I should try to raise some funds as life is expensive these days :)

I'm going to regret this, but I need to thin the herd, and create some space. I'm going to put a couple more basses up for sale shortly, if they sell, I may withdraw this one.
This is one of the early runs of the model, and having played a recent one, I can confirm the early ones are the best. All original, apart from an added grounding strip (easily removed).
This bass sounds and plays superb. At just under 4kg it's light for a jazz. NO TRADES - I'm thinning the herd (unless you have a 5 string Wingbass, or Fingy, or similar).
I'd much prefer collection or meet-up. We can't do that just yet (unless you're also in Wales) - so I'm just putting this up to see who's interested... Hopefully we can arrange the sale for a couple of weeks time.
I'd prefer not to post, unless buyer arranges their own courier.

Received today, from Bassdirect, my 50th birthday present, a tad late (I'm 51 next month!) because Bartolini have been stuffed by Covid. Mark has kept me up to date all the way through the process though, and I had a few offers of alternatives through the process. Just really wanted Barts in it.

      Here are the specs:-

      Century 5 + Fretless
      •Spanish Cedar Body,
      •Flamed Koa top
      •Finish - Natural satin finish
•Three piece Maple neck with contrasting stringers
•Fingerboard - Lined Black Diamondwood (resin,
      pressure impregnated wood)
      •Graphtech nut
      •35" Scale - 2 octave
•Bartolini 3-band pre amp with volume, pan, treble/bass
      stack, mid/mid freq select push/pull (250/800hz)
•Bartolini JJ Pickup in the JB position
      •Black ultralight Gotoh tuners
•Black Hipshot B style bridge in Aluminium

Sounds absolutely fantastic! Feels incredible to play, silky smooth neck. A tiny bit heavier than my Century Standard fretted, but in the same ballpark.

      Love how it looks though!

      Colour me chuffed

Beautiful Overwater fretless bass, custom made for the original owner around 2005.
The bass has a stunning quilted maple top and a nice green/blue burst finish. The fretboard is made of ebony.  It's an active bass.

There are several cosmetic damages to be found around the bass; dents, scratches, missing paint chips; battle scars. The fretboard shows signs of use but is definitely in very good condition. All hardware and electronics function like they should. The bass plays very well and has plenty of the mwah you want from a decent fretless.
An original, high quality Overwater gigbag/softcase is included.
      Now €1.150
I am located in the Netherlands, but happy to ship at buyers risk (insured, well packed)

For sale Sire V5 5 string. Bought new last autumn, little use still has film on pickups and scratchplate.
Passive, sunburst finish. Roasted maple neck, rolled edges.
Weighs 4.4  Kg according to my suitcase scale (A little more than andertons declared it weighed when I bought it)
Should be able to source a reasonably priced used hiscox case if courier delivery required
      Better photos ASAP

For sale is my Xotic XJPro - 01.
I brought it just over two weeks ago from the Bass Gallery in Camden. I am selling it simply because it is not the bass for me - I had thought I wanted to get an active/modern 5 string jazz style bass but I am definitely more of a passive P bass type of guy and I am primarily a double bass player, and this bass is far too nice to leave sitting around as a back-up.
It is a wonderfully easy bass to play, the neck in particular feels super nice. It has a really nice set up as it so fresh from the shop! It is strung with a set of DR Pure Blues strings. Condition is as new.
Here's a link to the Xotic website - http://xoticbasses.com These models were only available for a limited and are discontinued now, so do not expect to see therm come up very often! Such a high quality bass particularly at this price point.
Comes with a very stylish case.
Pickup or meet up in London, within reasonable distance of N1 only.
So, I made a new demo video for the bass - reason being that I had not been playing much bass guitar when I made the last one, so my plucking fingers had gone a bit soft and I don't think I was getting as a good a sound as usual. I have been playing much more the last couple of weeks (mainly on my P bass), so my fingers have toughened up a bit.
Also, this time I went through the DI on my Markbass 121 combo - EQ all flat, no filters applied on amp, just a bit of a bass boost on the Xotic's preamp, and tiny bit of compression applied in Logic. Apologies for the naff slapping at the end!
Would be interested in trades for Fender P's (preferably early 70's), or 4 string jazz basses too.....not very imaginative perhaps!!
