molan Posted January 2, 2009 Share Posted January 2, 2009 I could do with some interesting drum patterns to practice with and thought about buying a basic drum machine with pre-loaded patterns but thought that maybe there's some free software out there that would do the job? I did a very quick search and came up with a few but some were trial versions only and others were free software but the patterns were quite expensive downloads. I could point you in the direction of some half decent free drum romplers or synthesizers but that would mean you'd have to program your own beats. Maybe drum loops would be an easier option? E.g. dr.funk Posted January 2, 2009 Share Posted January 2, 2009 Hotstepper is great for starting out, easy to use and you can build up some quite detailed patterns. Erm... you could use a basic free sequencer (something like Reaper maybe) but that's maybe a bit more learning of software than you'd want to do just to loop an audio clip. I'm sure someone will know of something if using loop samples is a route you'd like to try. I had a quick look but nothing jogged my memory and I'm away now for a week.
