Bilbo Posted Sunday at 20:18 Author Posted Sunday at 20:18 Another bit of the Bach Cello Suites, this is the Gigue (the last bit) from Cello Suite No. 5 in Eb major. There are a few big jumps to negotiate if you are out of your comfort zone but that was practicing is, isn't it? If you are in your comfort zone, you can't be learning very much, can you? https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/gigue-from-bach-cello-suite-no-5-eb-major-j-s-bach/ 1 Quote
Bilbo Posted Monday at 13:06 Author Posted Monday at 13:06 Jaco's bass part to the tune 'When It Was Now' from the 1982 Weather Report album, 'Weather Report'. Not a great record for Pastorius aficionados but it has it's moments. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/when-it-was-now-weather-report/ 2 Quote
Bilbo Posted Monday at 19:24 Author Posted Monday at 19:24 Sometimes you just have to follow your heart. Ken Baldock's bass part for the theme tune to Mr. Benn. The band was led by Duncan Lamont and featured Kenny Wheeler on trumpet. And, get this. The musicians were credited at the end of each episode! https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/mr-benn-theme-duncan-lamont/ 1 Quote

Bilbo Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago I have spent the last couple of days going over my transcription of Jeff Berlin's bass part for 'Fainting In Coils'. I was looking at it as part of my own practice regime and noticed some errors that needed addressing so I thought it would be an easy thing to do. Of course, I did that one originally a few years ago and, this time, I was able to put the original track through MOISES and I can hear every detail in a way that I couldn't before. As a result, I can hear even more mistakes and the whole exercise has taken longer than I expected. It has also left me thinking that I probably need to do this with ALL of the pre MOISES charts, especially the Jeff Berlin ones! 1 Quote
