So, Iv been looking at some Dingwalls, And Just need clearing up the differences between

ABZ

AB1

AB2

Guessing the AB is afterburner but whats difference between 1 and 2 and what are the ABZ

Im sure the Combustions are basically the same as the NG Sig's but not bright colours and no dark glass preamp?

Thanks guys

The lines are kind of blurred now since the ABZ now is similar to what AB1 USED to be. Body wood, finishes and fancy top options seem to be the biggest difference between those 2.

AB2 is different neck and body woods, semi hollow.

The Combustion came before the NG2, and are what the NG2 is based on. Pickup locations, preamps and colours are the differences there.

Never played any Dingwalls other than the 2 AB1s I owned. Both brilliant basses. Don't think you can really go wrong with any of them. I'd love another some day...

AB stands for Afterburner, yes. All ABs are made in Canada, so they can be customized, which makes it sometimes hard to differenciate the lines as Bigwan already mentioned. ABZ is the most basic of the three, AB1 is the intermediate model, AB2 is top of the Afterburner line. NG and Combustion are both made in China. The main difference is the pickup position. The bodies are routed for 3 pickups and there is a "3X" upgrade kit available.

Specs and standard features can be found on the dingwall website http://www.dingwallguitars.com/
