Adding an image to your post - tutorial video

Hi guys

I made this quick video to show you how to upload pictures either to Basschat itself, or via an external site which will host the pictures for you.

The second way, via an external site, is the best method - I use a site called imgbb.com which I show in the video. If you sign up as a member of the imgbb.com site you get more features and no ads. It's free and works really well, so give it a go.

Any questions, please fire away.

To be able to read what I'm typing you'll need to go full screen, so click the 'watch on YouTube' button near the bottom right of the clip below or use this link

Ped, I'm using google drive to host my pics. I can paste in a url which works fine, but I'm not getting a thumbnail in the text of the post as you are. Any idea why?
Thanks.

Hi mate try putting these around the link - [ img] at the start, then the link, no spaces - then [ /img] at the end. Alternatively if you use the full reply editor there's a shortcut button in the toolbar which looks like a little picture - paste the link in there and that'll work.

Good luck

Hmmm...very strange.

When I use the image shortcut button in the normal reply box the photo comes up (ie I can see it in the editor) but when I press 'Post' I get an error message saying "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community.".

If I use the "More Reply Options" button to go to the advanced editor, then press the image shortcut button, the photo doesn't appear at all, just a text link.
