Precision Value, Stripped Body?

Hi there guys

I have the chance of a Fender Precision, the neck has the date stamp on the heel so all is ok there however the body has been stripped of paint, there's no evidence of it being a genuine Fender® due to the strip. Where the two pieces of body wood meet, the colour is pretty different. The scratch guard will cover most of that.

It does look nice and aged but my worry is that the value of it would have been dramatically reduced, whats your thoughts?
Also it has gold plated hardware (now fading) which I wasn't sure if they actually put on 74 basses?

Cheers guys
