Originally Fiesta Red, she received a professional refin in nitro Shoreline Gold a few years ago in the U.S. (the owner apparently played in some Elvis revival band which explains the color choice...).
Refretted by a German luthier 2 years ago.

Everything else is original to my knowledge (maybe except one or two screws). Including original hard case and covers.

... and did I mention the original lollipop tuners?

Neck is dated December 1966, pot codes 1967, pickup codes 1966

The bass plays like a dream, currently strung with LaBella deep Talking flats, but I also played rounds (Gallis) on it for a while, and both sound great.
Remarkably, there is no deadspots at all

Neck and headstock have achieved a nice honey-colored tint over the past 49 years... also the neck binding has turned yellow. All very typical for a bass of that age.

Overall, the bass is in decent shape, with a few dings and dongs... already a few natural cracks in the refin nitro... someone must have applied too much force installing the bridge cover once, and there is a small hole next to the hole for the lower bridge cover screw.

Here's your chance to get a great player in a spectacular color, before she turns 50 at the end of the year...!

The bass is located near Munich, Germany. You are welcome by and test-drive. Insured shipping at buyer's expense.

No trades, unless you have something like a CS Sean Hurley Signature or similar...

  • 4 months later...

...the bass is still here... lots of "tire kickers"... some real interest... but no one has pulled the trigger yet...
Unfortunately, I have to raise my price to 3650 £ to accomodate for the weak exchange rate, in order to get back to the same level of what I am asking in Germany.
(in case you didn't bother to get out and vote against Brexit... this is a good moment to regret...)

PS: I will try to upload better pictures... thanks for the hint!
