Rare earth magnets something something. Works really well for electric bass, I prefer the more hi-fi B-1 for upright work. Here's some specs copied from ACME site: Model: Acme Low B-112 Series III Frequency response: 41Hz to 22 kHz +/-3 dB. -6 dB at 31 Hz Power Handling: 350 Watts RMS continuous Recommended Power: 300-400 watts Sensitivity: 91.1 dB 1 watt/1 meter Impedance: Available in 4 or 8 ohms Dimensions: 23"H x 15.75"W x 16.5"D Weight: 37.5 lbs In practice, this is a great compromise between hi-fi and portability and efficiency. More "bass speaker cab" voiced than the Low B-2s. Edit: it had more bumps on it than I remembered! However, the cab works perfectly. Costs USD 725 from Acme and they are only available direct.
