Hi all. Hope you're well.

Ok so, I have my sights set on a StingRay. What's the going price for a 2-band (NEW) these days anyways?

I've put a quote in for a StingRay 4 'SLO' Special H - 2 Band EQ - in natural finish, with maple fingerboard and tortoiseshell pick guard; and I just wanted to make sure that whatever response I get back is going to be realistic.

Cheers.

You're going to be paying top money if its a custom order - guessing around £1600/1700. I believe the 2 band and SLO neck is a no cost option - in the USA its actually $50 less.

Are you sure you want a SLO neck? If you don't then you can pick up a new 2 band from various places in the UK for about £1000 - theres a nice black one at Bass Direct now for under a grand. I thought i would like a SLO neck, bought a USA Sterling which has the same neck and found i actually preferred the standard neck after all. The standard necks do vary a touch - my 2002 Ray is a fair bit slimmer than my 1997 one.

Hey Mudpup, cheers for the reply mate! Yes, I'm sure on the SLO profile. It's not necessarily a 'custom' order; nothing I want is out of the ordinary, I just asked for the SLO neck (as you say, a no cost option). All will be revealed in due course, just fancied getting ahead of the game a little in the meantime ;) Cheers.

Can you go the other way with the SLO neck? Put a Stingray profile neck on a Stirling?

I don't think EBMM have ever offered it as an option, and switching necks wouldn't be trivial between Sterling and Stingray.. The EBMM Sterling has a 22 fret neck with a 5 bolt sculpted joint
