Jazzjames Posted November 24, 2015 Share Posted November 24, 2015 Hi All, So now that they're available in europe, I was thinking of getting a set of 5 string P/J pickups from Aguilar for my Mike Lull PJ5. Does anyone have any experience of these pickups, or their 4 string version? I want to retain the woody nature of the bass, and the classic tone, but I feel that the pickups are a touch polite in comparison to the bareknuckle in my 4 string fender. Bareknuckle don't do 5 string pickups, otherwise I'd be on to them already. I have tried nordstrands albeit in a sadowsky metro, and I wasn't a fan. Any other suggestions? thebassist Posted November 24, 2015 Share Posted November 24, 2015 I have the hum cancelling ones in my 2013 US Standard Jazz Bass and like them a lot myself. There are a lot of pretty good reviews online about them. I'm not all that aware of many negative things people might have said about them.
